WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS RECIPE

Ready in Minutes â€“ Smoothies are one of my favorite things to make because they’re so easy – taking just a few minutes to prep! Then all you have to do is blend and enjoy.

Refreshing â€“ This smoothie is the perfect refreshing drink to cool down with on a warm day. It’s creamy, fruity, and, of course, delicious.

Easy to Customize â€“ Easily able to be customized you can add in protein, sneak in veggies, or substitute the fruit – and it will still taste great!

INGREDIENTS NEEDED (WITH SUBSTITUTIONS)

To make this fruit smoothie you will need the following ingredients:

Ingredients needed for the smoothie on top of a table

Non-Dairy Milk â€“ The base of this recipe is dairy-free milk. Any plant based milk is fine – almond milk, oat milk, soy milk, etc. are all great options. Want a creamier texture? You can use canned coconut milk. Or, sub the milk for coconut water.

Mango â€“ Mangoes are a great source of antioxidants, Vitamin C, potassium and magnesium. I love adding frozen mango to my smoothies for an easy and delicious tropical flavor. As always, you can either use fresh or frozen mango in this smoothie.

Banana â€“ Along with a smooth and creamy texture, bananas also add fiber and antioxidants. Again, you can use either fresh or frozen bananas. If you want a thicker consistency, I recommend using frozen banana.

Frozen Blueberries â€“ Blueberries are an antioxidant powerhouse! Both fresh or frozen wild blueberries are work in this smoothie.

Dairy-Free Yogurt – Adding a bit of dairy-free yogurt to this smoothie makes the texture especially creamy. You can use either plain or vanilla yogurt. If you want to make this smoothie extra sweet, I recommend using vanilla.

STORAGE & REHEATING

Smoothies are definitely best enjoyed fresh. However, if needed you can make it ahead of time. Place the blended smoothie in a jar and keep in the fridge for 1-2 days.

When ready to consume, just give it a shake to mix everything back up.

ADDITIONAL ADD-INS

Want to jazz up this smoothie? Below are some of my favorite smoothie add-ins to include!

  • Protein – For a boost of protein add in vanilla or plain protein powder.
  • Frozen Fruit – Pineapple, peaches, and strawberries all pair well with this smoothie.
  • Seeds – Hemp seeds, flax seeds, and/or chia seeds add healthy fats.
  • Leafy Greens – Add in kale or spinach to sneak some greens into this drink.
  • Other Ideas – For a slight tanginess, add in fresh lemon juice, fresh ginger, or fresh turmeric.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I add protein powder to this smoothie?

Yes! You can add protein powder to this smoothie. It will make the smoothie a bit thicker and creamier. If using protein powder, I recommend using either plain or vanilla flavored for the best taste.

Are bananas and blueberries good together?

Bananas and blueberries go together great in smoothies! Bananas provide a nice creaminess while blueberries provide a sweet berry flavor. Not to mention you get potassium from the banana as well as antioxidants from the blueberries.
