If you’re wondering what vegans eat, there’s plenty of options. A vegan diet is usually centered around fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, and meat and dairy alternatives.

You’d be amazed at how many vegan alternatives exist today! No need to go to speciality food stores anymore, supermarkets like Target, Walmart, and Publix all carry affordable vegan-friendly food.

And, what do vegans not eat?

Foods that you won’t find in this grocery list include any items that contain animal ingredients. So, any meat products, dairy products, and animal-derived products (such as gelatin) won’t be included in this guide.

If you’re unsure about certain ingredients, this list has specifics on ingredients to avoid if you follow a vegan diet. And, always make sure to read the ingredient list if you’re not sure.

FRUITS

Fresh fruit is a key part of a vegan diet! Fruit provides a wide range of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants while also making an easy, delicious, and nutritious snack. Fruit is also an easy way to bring natural sweetness to dishes without adding refined sugars.

Plus, the high water content helps to hydrate our bodies, while the fiber from fruit aids in digestion. So, whether having as a snack, blending into a smoothie, or incorporating into a meal – the below fruits are a delicious and healthy addition to a vegan diet.
