And, yes even meat eaters will be impressed with these places!
It’s safe to say Los Angeles is a great place to be if you’re vegan or vegetarian. I mean, the options are endless. While I’m fortunate to live in the city, if you’re just stopping by chances are you may be overwhelmed by all the options! To be honest, I’m still overwhelmed by all the options.
But, this list is to make the decisions easier and give you a breakdown of the best vegan spots to try. Whether you’re looking for a fancy sit-down meal or just want to grab-and-go, there’s an option below!
P.S. We all know traffic in LA is not to be joked about, while a place may seem close it can take hours (yes, hours) to get to. So, I’ve also included a map of all the restaurants so you can see how close you are to them!

The Best Vegan Restaurants in LA (2023)
1. Crossroads

Crossroads is one of the most popular Los Angeles vegan restaurants and for good reason! It’s delicious, has a wide variety of options, and a great atmosphere.
Located right on Melrose (the WeHo location) there’s outdoor, indoor, and bar seating. While it is on the pricier side, it’s great for a nice meal out!
The cacciatore (pictured top left) and cacio e pepe (top right) are two of my favorites!

2. Gracias Madre

Another super popular Los Angeles plant-based restaurant, Gracias Madre, is a go-to. If you like Mexican, you’ll love their plant based dishes.
Plus, they have a huge outdoor patio and plenty of indoor seating. Not to mention a long list of delicious vegan Mexican options as well as an equally long list of drinks to choose from.
If you’re looking for a non-alcoholic drink recommendation, their horchata is amazing. And, you can’t go wrong with their nachos!
Beyond lunch and dinner, they also have a brunch and happy hour.

3. Sage Plant Based Bistro & Brewery

Sage is known for their comfort food and commitment to sustainability! Their menu is centered around produce that comes from local farmers.
And, their food is just as good as it sounds. The jackfruit burrito is insane. Not to mention, it’s huge (like it has to weigh over 5 pounds huge). And their macaroni and cheese? Amazing!
Plus, with a long list of menu items to choose from their a great option for vegans and non-vegans alike.

4. Planta

Another quintessential vegan restaurant in Los Angeles, Planta is a staple – and for good reason!
Beyond the gorgeous vibe, they have an innovative menu that will impress vegans and non-vegans. They also have a extensive drink menu with cocktails, juices, wine, and more.
Note – they have two locations, a location in Marina Del Rey, which focuses on Pan-Latin, and a location in Brentwood that’s all-encompassing in terms of menu items.

5. Monty’s Good Burger

If you’re looking for the best vegan burger…the search is over. Monty’s Good Burger has mastered the vegan burger and it’s perfect.
Not only do they have burgers, but they also have shakes, fries, and more. And yes, it’s as good as it looks!
I highly recommend trying out Monty’s Good Burger if you’re in the mood for a fast food style experience. It’s pretty hard to beat.

6. Maciel’s Plant Based Butcher & Deli

If you’re looking for a vegan sandwich that won’t disappoint, Maciel’s Plant Based Butcher is your go-to.
The perfect lunch spot, this deli has plenty of sandwich, burrito, and salads to order. You can even get house-made meats and cheeses to-go (all plant-based of course).
If you’re looking for a delicious, filling lunch, Maciel’s deli is the perfect spot. Plus pair your sandwich with their chips and house-made salsa for the ultimate meal.

7. SunCafe Organic

Organic seasonal produce is the center of SunCafe’s menu! They have a huge variety of options from pastries, to smoothies, to pastas, and so much more.
Not sure what to get? Their vegan macaroni and cheese is insane! Also, how good does their raw lasagna look?! Plus, their dessert selection is hard to beat.
And, they have a great outdoor patio and plenty of inside seating. If you’re looking for a plant-based restaurant with a focus on seasonal produce, SunCafe is the way to go!

8. Cafe Gratitude

With all the menu items named after positive affirmations, Cafe Gratitude is a great place for plant-based food.
They have lunch, dinner, breakfast, and happy hour, so you have plenty of options to choose from as far as time goes! And, they have a huge drink menu with tons of options from smoothies, to lattes, to cocktails, and more.
Their bowls are my personal favorite, but you can’t go wrong! If you’re looking for a healthy spot to have a plant-based meal, Cafe Gratitude is a great option.

9. Hart House

Created by Kevin Hart, Hart House is another fast food vegan restaurant. With fries, tater tots, burgers, chicken sandwiches, milkshakes, and more, they have literally everything you could possibly want in a fast food spot.
And, they even have a drive-through! It’s located on a corner in Hollywood, and while you can eat inside, I recommend grabbing it to-go and taking it to your local park for the perfect picnic.
My personal favorite? Their chicken sandwiches. They’re amazing.

With a mixture of cuisines, Nic’s on Beverly is a super fun spot to dine at! It’s great for vegans and non-vegans, with a huge variety of drinks and food items to choose from.
Whether it’s brunch, happy hour, or a dinner out, Nic’s on Beverly is a go-to spot. They have wood-fired Detroit-style pizza, burgers, pasta, and more.
You’ll want to go multiple times to get a chance to try everything on the menu!

In the mood for sushi? Shojin is the spot for vegan sushi. Tucked inside a mall in Little Tokyo (downtown LA location), Shojin is a hidden gem!

My personal favorite is their all-day breakfast, specifically their breakfast pizza and butterscotch pancakes.
